Cat (napped)

Aww. A sweet wonderful cat I named Mollie came into my life last summer. We had an amazing connection. I'm not sure who loved each other more. I felt she was an old friend. I think she felt it, too. We slept together every night. She'd lean against me and use my hip or leg for her pillow. I learned how to sleep on my back motionless .. or roll over so s-l-o-0-O-w-l-y that she never woke up. She was my best friend. And I never forgot to tell her that. She told me it, too. In her own way.

Now she is gone. She mozied out to enjoy the California morning sun at 10 am a week ago last Friday and hasn't returned. I miss my Mollie. If anyone knows her whereabouts, please let go of your embrace so she can run home. She misses me, too. No Questions Asked.

ohhh that is sooo heartbreaking when your beloved pet is missing. I had a dog, Nicky who went missing for a week...it's like a hole in your soul...
But I think that Mollie will show up again soon, and when she does, what a reunion that will be!

Funny thing, Shawn. My cat, Casper wandered out and I was a basket case! I researched about lost dogs and cats and found that cats never wander further than a block from your home. Well, I applied this information and low and behold one night...sitting in the neighbor's driveway there he was! A week later and a little skinnier but very happy to see me. He had been living under the neighbor's hedge a stone's throw from my bedroom window.
Anyhoo....there is a chance that this cat came into your life for a reason (or maybe it was someone from a past life checking in)and is now on to helping out another human in need! You are lucky to have had this angel pass through your life!
Either way I am liking your comic work a lot!!!

Hopefully Mollie is just going on a cat like adventure, I really hope she comes back. Don't give up hope. Your cartoon is really, really great and so touching to me. Made me think of all the times my cats have wondered away. They came back, a little hungry and fuzzy, but they came back.

I am so touched and concerned by your pictures and your story. If I was in Calif I would go out looking with you. Post some flyers/pictures in the neighborhood. Cats love their homes and will come back if they can!

This is such a wonderful, heartbreaking illustration - I really feel for you! The illustration itself is really so sweet and well rendered and balanced...but the story it tells...well, it's sad but hopeful. Paryers for Mollie's safe return...
