It's late notice, but tomorrow, July 28th at 3 pm Eastern Time, (that's noon on the Pacific Coast) on NBC, they will telecast the Western States 100 Mile Endurance Race my sister ran in last month. Jeep World of Adventure is covering it. On my TIVO the title says World of Adventure Sports.
I was there for her race and saw the camera crew all around us.
It says this about the episode: THE WESTERN STATES 100: Witness the jaw dropping, adrenalin pumping, sweat flying adventure of the Western States Endurance Run-one of the oldest ultra trail events in the world and certainly one of the most challenging: one day-100 miles Extreme mental and physical preparation are of utmost importance to each runner, for the mountains, although beautiful, are relentless in their challenge and unforgiving to the ill-prepared.
If you want to be inspired, please watch this.

I watched it! That was so amazing...your sister is just incredible. I'm so completely impressed...truly. So the whole time I looked for a little pink running skirt...didn't see one. Were you guys in any of the shots? I also liked watching that boulder climbing...I did a bit of that a few years back in the Anza Borrego Dessert area. Ever been there? Boy, that granite is like grasping little tiny razor blades...yikes.
That's what we all were doing! Burning our eyes looking for a pink running skirt! And, then.. (ahem) .. for me and other family members on the sideline at the aid stations up in the mountains. We didn't make TV, but that boulder climbing they showed beforehand! Holycow, that was amazing! So inspiring.. so..well, frightening. It really makes me see the human spirit and all it's meant to be. So breathtaking beautiful. YOU DID THAT!?!? WOW! You have my utmost repect and admiration! That was so scary to me, I had to watch with just one eye straining to peek between fingers while my hand was in front of my eyes.
Thank you so much for watching and the support! That truly means so much!
Wow, how totally uninspiring!!It was promised to be so good. Oh, well. Have a great day, Shawn, I love you!!!
I was kinda hoping they would have had it be a longer piece with more profiles of the ultra runners and their personal stories. More of what they did with the boulder climber.
Actually, I just kept thinking, "how come they don't profile Kelly, because she has this amazing story to tell."
Oh, great. Spend some time sick in bed and I miss out on all of the important stuff. I so would have watched this. Are they going to repeat it?
