Sunday: that's my fun day
Isn't this a pretty place?
I'm beginning to feel the weather change here in the Sonoma Valley so I wanted to get out and spend it outside with friends.
And I did. We spent the day yesterday at Cornerstone. It's in a park setting with quite a few unique garden displays. From outdoor dressing rooms to a peewee golf course to a tomato garden to a maze of sticks... these gardens were designed to make one feel connected to earth and draw each person inward toward peace and tranquility.
I couldn't help but notice the gardens had been neglected for some time. They looked considerably different than the photos shown on their website. And no matter how hard I tried, I didn't feel they were lulling me into peace and tranquility.
And, infact, instead caused me to focus on the wear and tear and the neglect.
But! It was still fun. And it still brought a laugh or two (or a dozen) along the journey.
I am so enjoying my weekends spent with friends.

How sad that the garden is no longer loved. It seems like such a magical and colorful place. When ever I see something like that that is no longer getting the care it wants and needs I always want to adopt it and take over and make it better.
Sunday is a fun day. But as the day wears on, it is ironic it becomes a gloom day for me. I become blue as that tree thinking work starts again the next day. I need a vacation. Maybe I will take a trip out to Sonoma.
Oh man, this place looks so cool--I love this kind of whacky stuff. Too bad they are letting it get a little thrashed..not the original vision for sure...it reminds me of something Willy Wonka would have. Just love the birdhouses. Now I wonder what kind of birds would take up residence in those?....And I wonder what that stuff is on the tree? The blue stuff?
Seems like a very cool place! I love the birdhouses! Nice that they made this wonderful place and good that you are enjoying your weekends with friends!!!
I am SO glad that you are getting out and enjoying your weekends, Shawn! You work so hard and you definitely need that down time to recenter. Especially with your friends, who bring comfort and laughter!
